The Workers’ Compensation policies aim to:
• Ensure that all work-related injuries or illnesses are promptly reported and adequately compensated. • Provide a clear understanding of the process for accessing workers’ compensation benefits. • Establish a streamlined, transparent procedure for filing and reviewing workers’ compensation claims. • Protect both employees and the agency by ensuring that all claims are managed in compliance with state and federal regulations. Policy Statement All employees who experience a work-related injury or illness must report the incident to their supervisor immediately. The Workers’ Compensation process is initiated with a formal claim submission that is reviewed by the HR and Workers’ Compensation Teams. Every claim is processed according to standardized protocols that ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, expedited medical treatment, and fair compensation.
Procedural Guidance 1.
Immediate Notification:
– Employees must notify their supervisor or the HR department as soon as an injury occurs. – An initial report is filled out and submitted to HR within 24 hours. 2. Documentation and Claim Submission: – The employee, with assistance from HR if necessary, completes the Workers’ Compensation Claim Form. – Medical documentation is obtained from healthcare providers and included with the claim. – A copy of the injury report from the incident is attached to the claim submissions.
