Emergency Protocols:
• In the event of a sudden health crisis, immediate activation of the clinical emergency protocol is required. • Nurses must contact the client’s emergency contact and call emergency services as needed. • Record all steps taken, time-stamped entries, and follow up with a comprehensive incident report.
ii. Occupational Therapy (OT)
Purpose: OT services aim to enhance functional independence by addressing deficits in fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living through personalized interventions.
Implementation Procedures:
1.
Initial Functional Assessment:
– Conduct a standardized OT assessment to measure a client’s current functional abilities and identify areas for development. – Develop an individualized treatment plan that integrates short-term goals (e.g., improved grasping or dressing skills) and long-term behavioral improvements.
2.
Therapeutic Session Initiation:
– Schedule one-on-one therapy sessions and, where appropriate, group sessions. – Provide clients with training in the use of adaptive devices and compensatory strategies. – Document baseline performance metrics and specific therapeutic activities planned. 3. Ongoing Therapy Delivery: – Conduct sessions according to the treatment plan, collecting quantitative data (e.g., task completion times, error rates) and qualitative observations. – Adjust therapy techniques based on progress evaluations, with re- assessments conducted at regular intervals. – Maintain daily logs and periodic progress reports that are entered into the electronic records system. 4. Service Conclusion or Modification:
– Re- assess the client’s progress after a predetermined period. If goals are met, decrease therapy frequency or transition to maintenance sessions.
