XIV. THERAPIES AND CLINICAL SERVICES Therapies and Clinical Services are critical components of the CAC Waiver services, addressing both general health and specific developmental challenges. These services include Nursing, Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), Speech Therapy, and specialized Behavior Services. They are designed to enhance the client’s functional independence, manage developmental challenges, and address clinical needs through evidence-based interventions.
a. Nursing
Service Description
Nursing services encompass both routine health care and specialized clinical interventions. Nurses play a central role in providing medication management, health assessments, and patient education. The service includes: Primary Healthcare: – Routine assessments, monitoring vitals, and management of chronic conditions. • Medication Management: – Ensuring clients adhere to therapy regimens, scheduling doses, and monitoring side effects. • Health Education and Support: – Providing guidance on nutrition, exercise, and preventive health practices. • Emergency Response: – Rapid management of acute medical issues or emergencies. • To maintain optimal health and wellness for clients. • To proactively manage chronic conditions and prevent emergencies. • To support continuity of care and facilitate communication with other clinical providers. • To empower clients with the knowledge and skills to manage their own health.
